Type of work: Feasibility study and final designs.
Feasibility study and tender project to provide irrigation to an area of about 3,800 ha to benefit about 1,000 small and medium farmers and enable them to diversify the monoculture of corn through the introduction of higher value crops for the local, regional market and international. It was proposed to irrigate 3,000 ha from the diversion of waters from the Cuyamapa River. The study included the final engineering designs for the construction of the works and the bidding documentation, placing emphasis on the evaluation of natural resources, having developed hydrogeological prospecting works and soil science works to establish the suitability of the lands for irrigation, work of aerophotogrammetric restitution, topography, geology and geotechnics and a survey of the strata of small and medium producers. Through participatory workshops, the project was discussed with future users in all its aspects.
