Works for the “supply of drinking water to the localities of Wichí, El Sauzal, Misión Nueva Pompeya and Fuerte Esperanza” are advanced.

In December 2014, Latinoconsult was awarded the project review and supervision of the potable water supply works to the towns of Wichí el Sauzal, Misión Nueva Pompeya and Fuerte Esperanza, Province of Chaco.

The works are carried out through the initiative and administration of the Norte Grande Executing Unit and with financing from the World Bank.

It is a project of great relevance to be able to supply drinking water to the populations that inhabit what is called the “impenetrable” area.

The work consists of an intake to capture raw water on the Bermejo river at the height of the town of El Pintado. From there, the water is driven by pumps located on a pontoon to a system of pre-settlers. From the latter the water is propelled through a 6700 m aqueduct to the town of Wichí. In this town a water treatment plant is being built that will provide drinking water to its inhabitants through an elevated tank. The rest of the water produced will be pumped to a water cistern in the town of El Sauzal through a DN 500 mm aqueduct. From the cistern it will be pumped to an elevated tank to supply the locality.

On the other hand, through a 26,700 m aqueduct, pre-settled water is carried to the town of Nueva Pompeya where a water treatment plant, a cistern, an elevated tank will be built and the existing networks will be renewed and expanded.

The important work carried out by the Contractor Executing Unit, the Contractor and this Consultant, in relation to communication, anthropology and environmental studies actions, is particularly noteworthy.
