Work inspection of the recovery and improvement of the Gral. Belgrano Railway sections 5 and 6. Province of Chaco.

The main workshop is located in the city of Charata, Chaco, about 300 km from the city of Resistencia. A multidisciplinary team of professionals and technicians is in charge of the project review and inspection of this work, which began on January 2, 2017 and will last approximately 15 months.

The section in question is part of the comprehensive plan for the renewal of tracks in Belgrano Cargas Railway, from the Jujuy province to the ports of the Rosario area (Santa Fe), significantly improving cargo transport times, mainly cereals, and reducing logistics costs.

The work consists of the review of the detailed engineering and the comprehensive inspection of the 94 km railroad extension work.

The track area must be cleaned, the entire existing narrow gauge track (1 m) raised, and work on the shaping of the new subgrade, compaction of the embankment, and the assembly of a 25 m long section with rails (profile 54E1, class R260), fixings and new reinforced concrete sleepers (at a rate of 1,500 per km, supplied by ADIF) and their assembly, completing the work with the provision and laying of ballast in a thickness of 30 cm, transverse and longitudinal leveling of the new track. There will also be numerous level crossings and sewers.

Prior to the start of the works, the environmental impact study and the environmental management plan had to be approved, of which the monthly monitoring continues.
