Strategic analysis and engineering of the new Hidrovía

Latinoconsult carried out the strategic analysis, the engineering, transportation, economic, legal and environmental studies for the new concession period of the Hidrovía.

The Paraná River and Río de la Plata waterway concentrates 80% of the volume of the country’s exports and links more than 80 Argentine ports with the rest of the world. It allows the annual circulation of more than 125 million tons of all types of cargo, 1.5 million containers, 750,000 vehicles and the arrival of 320,000 cruise passengers.

The estimated costs for the 15 years of the new concession reach approximately USD 3.8 billion, of which the opening dredging represents about 20%.

This project will reduce the current toll rate, carry out improvement, expansion, maintenance works and substantially improve the operating conditions of the system. In this way, Argentina will gain greater competitiveness by reducing its logistics costs for both imports and exports.

We thank all the main users of the waterway for having trusted Latinoconsult to carry out this work.
