Type of work: Executive project.

The executive project for the Arroyo Maldonado basin aimed to mitigate flood problems, through:

Increase the catchment capacity of sinks
Increase the capacity of the existing trunk pipeline by means of two 6.90 m diameter relief tunnels (long tunnel, approx. 10 km, and short tunnel, approx. 5 km)
Entabication of 1,177 m of the current outfall
Increase the conduction capacity of secondary collector duct networks through the Construction of 114 new rain ducts (length: 46 km)

Tasks included:

Executive Project with bidding documents and environmental study for the establishment of the main outfall, construction of two relief tunnels and expansion of the network of secondary collectors.
Design and elaboration of the constructive methodologies of tunnels dug manually and with tunnel boring machines, calculation of thrust, nailing of the Derivation Works, anchors, piles and elaboration of geotechnical profiles).
Execution of complementary basic studies.
Socio-economic and financial evaluation of the selected alternative and development of the project, deepening the technical, environmental, urban, institutional and legal studies for the development of structural and non-structural measures.
